When issues are imported, they are created with issue type "Task". How can I import issues as "Stories". No option is given to select issue type when matching fields.

Does the issue type scheme of the project you're importing issues to contain the issue type Task?
If not specified in your CSV file, imported issues will be given the default (i.e. first) Issue Type as specified in your Jira site.

Yes, issue type task is listed in the project; however story is not the default. Will change story to be default and retry importation
