The ID display is happening in queries and emails too (not just in the issue types). Not sure if these practical issues have been reported to the JIRA team:

1. This issue is making debugging filter queries unnecessarily difficult. E.g. queries show up like so:

(assignee in ("[~accountid:xxxxxx:xxxxx-xxx-xxx-xxx-xxxxxxxxx], [~accountid:xxxxxx:xxxxx-xxx-xxx-xxx-xxxxxxxxx],[~accountid:xxxxxx:xxxxx-xxx-xxx-xxx-xxxxxxxxx, [~accountid:xxxxxx:xxxxx-xxx-xxx-xxx-xxxxxxxxx],[~accountid:xxxxxx:xxxxx-xxx-xxx-xxx-xxxxxxxxx] )) AND Resolution = UNRESOLVED) ORDER BY key ASC, created DESC

Just impossible to update or change the query unless I know all the character string ids of every person.

2.  Also, email notifications continue to be useless since they are displaying names of folks with @mention in this format: [~accountid:xxxxxx:xxxxx-xxx-xxx-xxx-xxxxxxxxx] - which means no one is taking actions from notifications anymore.

I get GDPR and I understand the spirit behind it. But this is not a GDPR issue, this is a JIRA usability issue. When can we expect a fix?
