When exportng issues, How do i export the Epic Name instead of ID

tia.fellerman November 2, 2022

When exporting my issues and choosing all fields, the Epic Link column which shows as the Epic Name in the UX, exports as the Epic Link ID instead...How do i get the export to export the name and not the id..the ID does not help me for what I want to do.

Hi @tia.fellerman

I just double-checked, and the epic link is exported as "<issue-key> <epic name>" in the app that my team is working on, JXL for Jira. JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues rather than "just" an export app, but it does great exports, too - so if that would solve your problem, you may want to give it a try.

There's also a number of dedicated export apps in the Atlassian Marketplace; I can't say for sure if they would export the epic link as you'd expect, but it may be worth some further research.

Finally, if you find JXL useful, we can also look into adding that option for you. Always happy to chat!

Best,

Hannes

Did you try to include the Epic Name field in your export rather than Epic Link?
