I created a new project (Scrum or Kanban), and the first thing I did is created an epic. Now from the search when I try applying a filter on search through epic link I get this error that "Issue must be of type epic" and the epic shows unlabelled.

Hi @zainab qureshi,

  • Try re-indexing Jira.
  • Check custom field context scheme. (Admin -> Custom Fields -> Epic Link)

Please check this KB, it may help.

I can't seem to find the re-indexing option under

Admin-> System -> Advanced -> Indexing.

Can you please guide how to re-index Jira Cloud?

Just noticed, re-index has deprecated in Jira Cloud. Please check other solutions provided in KB.
