When I create a jira issue, it assigns to myself even though I select an assignee

I created a jira issue with assignee, however it assigns back to myself even though I put assignee name there. can you advise why it's happening? thanks

Are there Components in the issue?

Also, did you look at the History of the issue to see who/what might have assigned it to you?

Check under Project settings > Details. Then scroll down to the bottom and make sure you are not set as the default assignee.

thanks, I checked already but I'm not a default assignee, would it be something else keeps re-assign to myself?
