I haven't run into this one yet - but we have a parent story that has a fix version in the future (ie. fix version x.28), however a sub task within that story needs to be delivered earlier (ie. fix version x.26).
I haven't run into this before, so I am unclear what to recommend to the team there are no dependency's between the two (parent and subtask), just one of the subtasks is completed and they want to release independent of the Parent.
Should the team be decoupling this subtask from the parent story and creating a new task and link it to the parent story as a "split from"?
What's the best practice here?
Thanks for any feedback you can provide me.
Peter
Hi @Peter Baxter,
Welcome to Atlassian Community!
I would recommend that they convert the subtask to a task/story and then use the link split from, just like you are thinking.
