I've noticed in the last couple of days that discussion layout is not available in Jira tickets. For me this layout has been incredibly useful and it's sudden disappearance is a mystery. I've enquired of our IT and there haven't been any changes to settings, so wondering (a) why its no longer available and (b) if it's possible for it to be reinstated.
It was a huge productivity boost to have the discussion thread side-by-side to the ticket description (saves me having to have the ticket open in another browser window).
Hi @Quaetapo - I wholeheartedly agree! Having the Discussion Layout was a game changer for myself and my team! Now that it is not an option, it has made our productivity slow to a crawl.
Hi @Karan Sachdev - Having customizable views was one of the best features Jira had to offer. Unfortunately, they have now taken our choices away. VERY frustrating and disappointing.

I don't have a 'live' snapshot, since it's no longer there, but here's a mockup of what it looked like.
Essentially, there's a toggle button for Normal layout/Discussion layout. In the image below, from the normal layout on the top, if you click on the 'Discussion layout' button, the discussion then moves to the right hand panel. There's a toggle there to display the fields, but it isn't included in my mockup.
