What plan or licence do I need to use Jira Forms?

Fiona Mainey September 7, 2022

I am currently using Jira's free version with a max of 10 active users. I checked to see if Project Settings, Forms was available and was not visible. What plan do I need to be on to have access to Jira forms?

Hello @Fiona Mainey

Welcome to the community.

What document are you referencing that tells you that you should be able to find a Forms option under Project Settings?

Are you working with a Work Management, Software, or Service Management project?

Confirm that the documentation you are viewing is for Jira Cloud and for the type of project with which you are working.

For a Work Management project the Forms feature is available directly in the left side navigation pane in the Free subscription. You do not have to select Project Settings.

For a Service project, Forms are available under Project Settings in the Free subscription.

Forms are not available for Software projects, but there is a change request open for that.

Hi Trudi, I am working under Jira Software and until today had just one Kanban board but now have three. We currently have a Microsoft Form for internal tickets but it means I need to migrate them from a SharePoint spreadsheet into Jira and was hoping to have a form that created the new tasks directly into Jira.

P.s. I was looking under the Atlassian documentation re: Forms.

Can you provide a link to the documentation you referenced?

When referencing Atlassian documentation you will need to check that it applies to the hosting that you use (Cloud vs. Server/Data Center) and you will need to check that it applies to the project type you are using (Business/Work Management, Software, Service). The applicability may be called out in the text of the documentation, you may have to look at the documentation links/breadcrumbs, and/or there may be an option in the upper right corner to switch between Cloud-hosted and Server/Data Center-hosted documentation.
