What is the global permission "Atlassian Home for Jira Cloud project connection issue glance"?

we recently noticed a new Jira Global Permission called Atlassian Home for Jira Cloud project connection issue glance - what is this for?

I asked that same question back in May through an Atlassian support case and got this response:

The permission Atlas for Jira Cloud project connection issue glance is a new global permission that was added by the system app Atlas for Jira Cloud. If you click on the link, you can see that there is a marketplace listing for this app, but it is actually already preinstalled as a system app.

If you find the app in the list of installed apps and click on the Configure button, you'll see this screen where you have the ability to turn the integration on or off

The Atlas for Jira Cloud app is used to integrate and sync data between Jira projects and Atlas projects. When the integration is turned on, and the permissions are granted, you will see a new Status panel on the right-hand side of the issue view for all epics in all Jira projects.
