I have created the project and create epic, issues and Subtask. Since issues are getting roared among people I request the team to log time in sub task. But turn out it doesn't support to generate accurate but down chart. How can I create correct burndown chart? Should I ask the team members to log time in issues directly? So what will happened to Subtask?
Hello @Buddhini Perera _Sue_
Welcome to Atlassian Community.
Unfortunately, the behavior you are facing where the time logged on Sub-tasks is not considered on Reports is a known behavior in Jira. We understand that this functionality would be very useful in some cases, so we created the following feature request to our developers:
- Burndown chart doesn't take under consideration the sub-tasks estimation
Feel free to vote and watch the suggestion to increase its priority and also receive notifications about any updates.
For now, if you need the accurate progress of each analyst responsible for each sub-task in the burndown chart, you can consider the following options:
1 - You can replace the standard-issue types with Epics and the sub-tasks with standard-issue types
2 - Test if one of the available report add-ons can give you the Burndown Chart that considers sub-task estimations, such as All-In-One Reports for Jira or eazyBI Reports and Charts for Jira Cloud.
3- Check the Community question below where a user mentioned the workaround they used:
burndown chart to show story points from sub-task (or technical task)?
