What is the best way to group backlog items?

Hello, I am very new to JIRA and I am running a single backlog for one project. This backlog has 350 items on it which I would like to group to help me plan and release several features within the same group. e.g. Search, login, browse etc. What's the best way to do this? I assume I can use the epics feature to tag the various items? Is this the only/best way?

Tagging the issues to Epics is one way like you mentioned. Another way are to set values to the fields (e.g. Component) and using the Quick Filters to filter your issues.

Thank you Timothy. I settled on using labels.
