What happend to the option to hide a field in the field configuration page?

there used to be a show/hide option, not i dont see one. i used ai in a few forms and they all say it should still be there. 

where has this option gone? its very possible i am just completely missing it.....

there are feature requests filed to bring back the "Hide/Show" field option in field configuration for Jira Cloud:

JRACLOUD-95298: Add the Hide/Show Field Feature back in
This request specifically asks Atlassian to restore the previous Hide/Show functionality in field configurations. Currently, there is no known workaround for this behavior

JRACLOUD-95232: Include a "hide" option to allow admins to make fields invisible without removing them from field configuration schemes
This request highlights the need for a dedicated "hide" option so admins can make fields invisible to users while preserving all field configurations. The suggested workaround is to use the issue layout or screen configuration at the project level, but this does not fully replicate the old behavior

The Hide/Show option was removed when the Field Configuration screen was updated. Here are a couple of articles that talk about the changes to custom field management and Field Configuration management.

I didn't see it in those articles, but I do remember reading somewhere about the removal of the Hide/Show option and the addition of the Remove option. If I can locate that I will post it here.

you dont need to, i filed a support ticket and they confirmed it was removed and there are feature requests to get it back.

it was there before the update and its still in all of the documentation, i guess i can put in a support ticket. field configurations are supposed to save you from having to have different screens for each issue type

Hi @Alexandria _Lexi_ Codd , thanks for your post. You should be able to configure individual screens to show or hide fields but in the field configuration, I also don't see this option.

Please can you explain what you are trying to achieve?
