I'm exploring switch our team to a Kanban board. I have all my columns set and statuses mapped. In the backlog view, there are certain statuses that do not show. I'm trying to understand what drive the "In Dev" section.

We have several statuses for tickets like In Development, On Hold, Ready for Build that we consider "In Dev" and I would like to see in the backlog. However, several of these statuses do not show, but are mapped to a column for the board.

I deleted the sub-filter to see if that would help but it did not. I've also checked the board filter to make sure it's not filtering out anything.

Any help is appreciated.

Are you working with a Team Managed project or a Company Managed project?

Can you show us a screen image of the Columns page where statuses are mapped to columns?

For a Kanban board the Backlog screen is divided into two sections; the Backlog section and the "other" section. The label for the "other" section depends on whether you are working with the board of a Team Managed project or a Company Managed project.

For a Team Managed project that "other" section is labeled Board and should show all the issues that display in your board.

For a Company Managed project Kanban board, that "other" section will show the issue on your board but only from the left-most column. If you have multiple statuses that are part of the "In Progress" Status Category, and each of those statuses is mapped to a separate column, then only the one in the status mapped to the left-most column will show in the Backlog screen in the upper issue list.

I figured out what the issue was. I didn't realize that the first column for the board was getting used for the backlog view. I have updated the mapped statuses for our "In Dev" board column and all is working now.
