I can't seem to find a way to view my tasks in the expandable table view that I had been using for years. I organize my work by Project, Epic, Tasks, and Subtasks. First, selecting the Project, organizing my Epics by Phase, the expanding my tasks and subtasks.
This is a classic view that's been around for decades in various PM software, from MS Project to Primavera.
How can I restore my table view back before this new update?
welcome to the community!
From Jira's native features, I feel that Advanced Planning (formerly known as Advanced Roadmaps) might closest to what you're looking for. Note, however, that you'll need Jira Premium for that.
Alternatively, if you're open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, you'll have more options. E.g., you may want to have a look at the app that my team and I are working on: JXL for Jira.
JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your work items (issues) that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting, and filtering by all your work item fields, much like you’d do in e.g. Excel, Google Sheets, Smartsheet, or Airtable. It also comes with a long list of advanced features, including support for (configurable) work item hierarchies, work item grouping by any work item field(s), sum-ups, or conditional formatting.
With these, you can build a view like e.g. this in just a couple of clicks:
This is really just one of a virtually endless number of possible views and reports; you can also view and group by any other issue fields, configure different sum-up styles, etc. etc.
Any questions just let me know,
Best,
Hannes
Hi Larry - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Can you provide some more information? What type of project is it? Company-managed? Team-managed? Business? Software? What view were you using to see that information? It says you are on a Free account, which is VERY limited for those types of things.
