We have a user that 1.) is not displaying full name correctly, and 2.) is having issues with their password not syncing properly when being sent to the single sign on provider.
His account works fine on desktop, but not via his phone... Absolutely at a loss for solutions!

Has he tried opening the url on his phone in DESKTOP mode rather than Mobile mode.

Maybe - when you check his phone browser as it redirects to your SSO url - have you checked whether it gets renamed to mobile version, say,
m.yourcomany.sso.net
and maybe your organization sso url is just yourcompany.sso.net
