Watchers during issue creation workaround fails

I have tried to implement the custom fields workflow as described in the knowledge base below:

However, when I go to create the post function after the issue creation event, the copy from other field function does not list ANY custom fields. 

How can I copy from custom fields?  Is there some permission missing?

Hi @Nino 

Just start typing the name of the custom field. (Source Field does not lists all the fields in the system - start typing to enforce searching).
