Is this statement true?  If so, can you share background so we understand why.

Has the concept been replaced?  If so, how?

I know of no concept of Feature in Jira. You have Epics, Stories, Tasks, Sub-tasks. Where are you reading info on feature and depreciation?

FWIW, Atlassian are probably heading in the opposite direction - SAFe names Jira Epics "Features", with Epics being higher up in the hierarchy.  Because of Jira Align and that clash, it looks like Epics might be formally renamed to Features (although I suspect it will simply be optional)

we use Epics more for sub-projects in our world than features. Features works well (sort of) in the SW world but not so much for business projects. so optional will be best for sure.
