Want to exclude weekends from our sprint in company-managed project

Our team is working in a company-managed space and are working in 2-week sprints, however the sprint is including weekends meaning our sprints are finishing around 4 days earlier than they should, and sometimes on a Saturday or Sunday which makes planning a bit tricky. The only solution I've been able to find is to set up our working days, however they are set up correctly and the sprint is still including the weekends.

Is there something I'm missing, or a solution other than setting up the working days? I've been rooting through the web and the settings to try to correct it, but no luck so far. Is it possible to do?

Hi @ayla and welcome to the Community!

When you start a sprint, you can manually choose the end date of your sprint, so it always ends on e.g. Friday or Monday, whatever your preference. So you should be able to take control over the end date and don't need to accept the suggested end date Jira puts forward when you click the start sprint button.

As long as you keep the length of your sprints consistent (i.e. the same number of working days in there), having weekends included or not should not be relevant. Your velocity chart, associated with the sprint board, will then display the amount of work your team delivers in each sprint, so over time you should get a reliable view of the amount of work you can safely commit to for the next sprint.
