WEBHOOK not being called

I have a webhook setup. If I go to the admin page and click on the URI for the hook it gets to the web service just fine. However, when it is supposed to call the web hook due to issue activity it doesn't call the webhook and the following is in catalina.out:

013-07-19 12:06:50,135 Thread-23 WARN [webhooks.util.http.CachingHttpContentRetriever] Unable to post information to 'http://CMB9C-A10.local:8080/jiraIssueEvent' as user 'null' due to: CMB9C-A10.local

Any idea what is going on? The error message is not very informative.

No. The suspicion was that it was only happening when I was connected in via a VPN but no one knew why that would make a difference. The Jira folks said they hoped to get a more informative error message in there for a future release.

I have a similar problem with JIRA 5.2.8. However, I can point the webhook's URL from the link provided by JIRA. It is when triggering the webhook from a post-function that I get the error posted by Nathaniel Novod:

Unable to post information to [My URL] as user 'null' due to 'null'

Any idea?
