Hello guys.
I entered the company domain in Jira settings by mistake. Now I want to remove that domain because I don't want to connect Jira DNS records to my provider. However, when I try to delete it, I get info that if I remove it, all email addresses with this domain will be removed.
How can I remove a mistakenly entered domain without deleting all accounts with that domain name?!
Hey @Branislav Rikić ,
Where exactly did you verify the domain? On the Emails menu or on the Security menu?
If you only did this on the Emails then any custom outgoing email address you specified would be deleted, not accounts.
I'm going to guess this is the case because otherwise you would have to already have added the DNS records to verify and also Claim all the accounts.
If you could share a screenshot to verify we can advice even better.
But normally, removing a domain verification, should not impact the user accounts. At worst the custom email addresses used to send mails will be removed.
Hey Dirk.
It's on the email menu. The picture is attached.
And because of this situation, every day I receive an email notification that it is not possible to verify the domain name (We're not yet able to confirm that your DNS records match those in your domain provider. When we do, we can verify your email domain).
All I want is to fix this 'error' and delete domain name added by mistake.

Hey @Dirk Ronsmans
Based on this picture, is there any advice to solve this 'problem' I mentioned?!
Every day, I keep receiving email about 'DNS problem'.

You'll either need to add the correct dns records or remove the domain from the configuration in Atlassian.
Since it's on the email part you won't get any loss of users or anything and since it's not yet fully configured you'll also wont get any loss of custom email addresses since they won't exist yet.
TL;DR: remove the domain from the admin panel and the mails will stop, looking at it there won't be any impact to your organization.
