Hi,

As a project masters we have KPI's to increase the Velocity year one year as team matures on using zira.

Is it possible I can get the velocity chart for the full Fy 23-24 for some of my older sprints?

Is there any other reports that can give me capacity vs delivered metric for the full financial year as per board or sprint?

Regards,

Javed A.

Hi @Javed Ahmad,

Unfortunately, this is not possible with the Jira's reports, which displays up to 7 sprints.

A solution would be to look for an app on Atlassian Marketplace that offers this functionality.

If you consider the idea of installing an app, be aware that our Great Gadgets app offers a Team Velocity gadget that allows you to select a time-range and does not have a limitation for the number of sprints displayed.

You can also use the Kanban Velocity gadget offers by the same app, which does not use sprints but time intervals.

Also, the Pivot Table & Pivot Chart gadget offered by the same app might work for you. This gadget is very flexible and allows you to calculate in almost any way you want.

Hi @Javed Ahmad -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

No, there is no built-in reporting to extend to that time range.  As workarounds you could either export the Jira issue data and build reporting in another tool (e.g., a spreadsheet) or investigate the Atlassian Marketplace for alternative reporting: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/

While doing that, I encourage you to ask follow-up questions about those measures and learn what problem they are trying to solve.  Please note measuring an "increase the Velocity year on year" may not actually measure what you want to improve, and could have unintended consequences: people may inflate sizing estimates, or unnecessarily split items, or claim work as "done" which is not completed, etc.

Perhaps meet with your teams' scrum masters, agile coaches, and leaders to better understand the measures before trying to calculate them.

Kind regards,
Bill
