i have 300 issues which needs to be linked to an epic , can we use bulk edit for this i cant see the option to edit linked issues
Hey @sagireddy_reddy
Welcome to the Community!
On the bulk edit screen, you may search for Parent field instead of the Linked Issues field.
You can update the Parent field to the target epic, and complete the bulk operation. This should fulfil your requirement.
I hope this helps!
Thanks!!
Hi @sagireddy_reddy ,
In Jira Cloud (including Enterprise), you cannot use bulk edit to add / change issue links (including “is parent of / is child of”), so that’s why you don’t see an option to edit Linked issues in the bulk change screen.
This is a known product limitation so for now, you can help upvote this request via JRACLOUD-2428. and hopefully, the Atlassian team will support this soon.
So for now, there are 2 options:
1) Use the backlog / board to re‑parent in bulk
If your issues are on a board that shows an Epic panel:
Open the board backlog.
Make sure the Epic panel is visible.
Select the 300 issues (Shift‑click to select a range).
Drag them onto the target epic in the Epic panel.
2) Since you’re on an Enterprise plan, you can also use Plans:
Add those 300 issues into a plan.
In the Scope section, select the issues you want to change.
Use Bulk actions → Parent to set the same epic as their parent.
I hope the below documents are helpful for your case:
-> This updates the Parent field (i.e., sets the epic) for all selected issues, and then syncs back into Jira.
I hope everything works out well for you.
Best regards,
Peter

Hi @sagireddy_reddy are the 300 issues child’s of epic? If yes you can choose parent or epic link column to map parent to 300 issues.
