Using back quote for code format in writing descriptions

Dear Jira team,

when writing descriptions of tasks, stories, ecc i would like to use the back quote to highlight text in code format.

This seems to not work properly since when saving a description the code format is not rendered and instead the back quotes are shown.

It works only when editing again the text.

Is this a known issue?

Thank you for reaching out to Atlassian Community!

Testing on my local site adding the code block using the backquote, it worked normally when editing, and after saving it was visible as well.

Just to make sure that we are on the same page, I would like to know if you are typing the backquotes directly on the description or if you are using a template.

Have you tested using the option directly on the editor? Does it work?

Is it happening on all tickets or is it on specific ones?
