By default, Jira Business Project Forms are only accessible to licensed Jira users, meaning non-Jira users won’t be able to access or complete them. However, if you need external users (such as customers, vendors, or stakeholders) to fill out forms without requiring a Jira license, you might want to try Smart Forms for Jira.
✅ Create Publicly Accessible Forms – Share forms with non-Jira users via a public link or embed them on a website or Confluence page. ✅ Enable External Issue Creation – Allow non-licensed users to submit requests, automatically creating Jira issues upon form submission. ✅ Restrict Access as Needed – Control who can access the form ✅ Attach Forms to Jira Issues – Use forms to collect additional information after an issue has already been created. ✅ Export Responses for Reporting or Use build-in Charts – Download form responses as PDF or Excel for tracking, audits, or analysis.
How to Set Up External Sharing & Issue Creation
1️⃣ Create a Smart Form – Add form fields, checkboxes, attachments, or dropdowns based on your needs. 2️⃣ Enable External Sharing – Generate a public link for the form or embed it in a Confluence page or external website. 3️⃣ Enable “Create New Issue” – Configure the form to automatically create a Jira issue upon submission. 4️⃣ Customize Notifications – Get notified via email or Jira automation when new responses come in.
This setup allows non-Jira users to submit forms without requiring a Jira license, making it ideal for customer feedback, HR applications, vendor requests, and other external interactions.
