We use the Agile views, such as Backlog, to set our story points with the teams. However the "Story Points" (upper case P) field is not used for Advanced Roadmaps story points. That instead is only shown in Advanced Roadmaps as "Story points", and is not actually a field.
"Story points" is a value left over from Greenhopper days, and can't be used as a field in any non-Advanced Roadmaps view or screen. This includes being unable to create an automation which sets "Story points" as a work-around to using "Story Points".
The only fix I've seen is to update the database, which is obviously only available in Jira Server, per this KB article.
Is there a way to use a field in Agile view for story points that can be referenced for story points in Advanced Roadmaps?
TLDR: In Jira Cloud, Story Points used in Agile planning seem unable to be automated for Advanced Roadmap usage, and vice-versa. Is there a way to do it?
Hi @Bill Mauer
Just to clarify...
...is that correct?
---
If yes, for me this does work - if I update Story Points, it reflects in Story points in real-time in Advanced Roadmaps.
I assume your Plan / Board is setup to have the estimates be story points?
Ste
@Ste Wright You are correct in your clarifications.
Your assumption is also correct.

For further clarification, we're also company managed (I know, needed for Plans):
Is there another setting I haven't seen/found?

Hi @Bill Mauer
All looks good to me. The only other one I can think of is...
Also, is this happening for just yourself, or various members of your team(s)?

Hi @Ste Wright
I created a free account with a Trial of Advanced Roadmaps, and see that it works. I've gone through all settings: they are the same. One difference is a lack of description on the Story Points field. This leads me to believe a past owner of this instance deleted the original Story Points field. Thank you for your help, as I didn't realize this just worked out of the box!
