Hi @Lauren Pennisi

If you are open to try out alternate apps for logging hours and detailed time tracking reports, I can suggest the one we have developed

Worklogs Time Tracking in Jira & Timesheets

With this add-on, you can easily add the worklog authors and time tracking reports as a dashboard gadget. Main features of the app -

  • Create time reports in real time by grouping & categorizing data with aggregation
  • Prepare your reports based on Project/Sprint/Issue Type/Assignees and various other filters
  • Group your data to build more meaningful reports
  • CSV Export
  • Dashboard gadget
  • Enter Time Spent for multiple issues from Time sheet screen. With Calendar view and Board view

Hi @Lauren Pennisi 👋

Since the error appears inside Timesheets for Jira, the quickest path is to contact that vendor’s support team — they’ll be able to check the cause of the logging issue.

If you need a working alternative in the meantime, you might want to try JetTime. It offers:

  • Simple time logging with start/stop timers.

  • Worklog reports filterable by project, user, or date range.

  • Custom metrics and cost centers for billing or internal reporting.

  • CSV/Excel export for finance or payroll.

  • Privacy-first design — JetTime is built fully on Atlassian Forge and Runs on Atlassian, so data never leaves Jira Cloud.

Hi @Lauren Pennisi ,

If the issue is related to a specific add-on you're currently using, I recommend opening a support request directly with the vendor — they’ll be in the best position to help you resolve it.

From the screenshot you shared, it looks like you're using a timesheet-style view for time tracking. If you're exploring alternative add-ons, one option to consider is WorklogPRO. It provides a range of features;

  • Timesheet and calendar views to monitor how project hours are distributed over days or weeks

  • A dashboard to provide an overview of logged time across different issues and users

  • Pivot reports to visualize and analyze logged hours by project or team

  • A teams view to see all worklogs within a project team in one place

  • The ability to define a work hours schema, which helps compare expected vs. actual time spent on project tasks

  • Attributes and Accounts features, allowing you to tag worklogs by project phase, account, or work type

  • A detailed worklog tab within each issue, for easy access to time data on task level

  • Export options (Excel, PDF, CSV) to support reporting or sharing with
  • Approval feature to allow managers or team leads to review and approve submitted worklogs before they are finalized.
  • Visual alerts for exceeded expected time, highlighting when the logged hours surpass the defined required time. This helps users and managers instantly identify tasks or projects where time estimates are overrun

Hi @Lauren Pennisi Lauren,

This issue usually happens due to Jira’s worklog permissions (missing Work on Issues) or time tracking configuration.

A practical fix is to use the Time & Cost Tracker for Jira (Timesheet | Budget | Reports) app, which simplifies time logging and avoids these errors. It provides:

  • Easy logging from issues or a clear timesheet view.

  • Validation to prevent invalid worklogs.

  • Detailed reports with filters by user, project, or date.

  • Export to Excel, CSV, or PDF for invoicing.

  • Forecasting and cost tracking on top of worklogs.

It’s an all-in-one solution for logging, reporting, and managing worklogs.
