When someone mentions me in the comments, I am receiving the notification. But I am also receiving the email notifications for the old mentions from the same ticket.
Please suggest the fix for this.
Hi @Haritha Koppula , welcome to the Community. Are you saying you receive multiple emails or are you saying the email includes historic comments? Can you provide more details or screenshots? It would help to perform a very controlled test, e.g. ensure that the only update on an issue is a comment that mentions you and observe results. Depending on results some things to investigate- are you using a different email handler addon, e.g. JETI or JEMH, or is there some Automation at play here.
Hi @Jack Brickey ,
We are receiving new email alerts for historic comments on the same ticket if a new comment is added recently.
Eg: User1 mentioned me 30 days before on the ticket
User2 mentioned me today on the same ticket for some update.
I am receiving the email alert for the latest comment from User2 and then I am also receiving the email alert for the old comment from User1 which he mentioned 30 days ago.
No, we are not using any extra email handlers. The settings are by default.
The strange thing is this is happening to couple of users only.
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
Something certainly is missing or horribly wrong. I have never seen old notifications going out. I did a quick search in the Community and didn’t find anything either. What is unique about these users? If you can reproduce I would consider reaching out to Atlassian Support to have them inspect things.

Hi @Jack Brickey ,
The user is same when compared to other users no special settings added and I have also verified that the users personal notifications settings, all seems to be good.
Can you please provide some inputs to look for any settings to start with this?
Thanks,
Haritha

outside of some odd addon behavior or Automation, I don't know what else might explain this behavior TBH. your best bet is Atlassian Support I think.
