User with GSuite Group email can't login with verified domain

We are doing a migration and we have a couple of users on our JIRA Server instance that their email address is a GSuite Group distribution email address, not a GSuite user.  We migrated over to cloud and linked our domain and GSuite, but when I try to login as this user using email, I am redirected to login with Google instead.  You can't login to a group email as they have no password and aren't recognized as a valid account.  Is there a way to allow this user to login using their email?

It doesn't appear it is supported.  The workaround we came up with is to create an account using a normal user account, then setup a forwarding rule to forward the emails it receives from Jira to the group email address.
