I have a user that on the transition screens she has to expand Log Work to enter her time.
This is new for her and different from what other users are seeing in our instance. This is how it looks for me
I have no idea why her's is different or how to change it back to the normal view.
I think it's related to this issue and can be turned of from user profile.

Despite the fact that the doc say it can be toggle off, it's not the case on my side.

thanks for the reply! I saw the same ticket and same experience. No one on our side can figure out where the setting is that can be turned on or off.

since you have the desired view: Do you have the toggle option in your settings?
It is 'General settings' in 'Personal Jira settings'.
If not, then it is probably an issue with obsolete data from your browser's cache. The browser of the user with the collapsed view simply executes the latest data coming from the servers.
You could verify this by doing a full reload of the page, bypassing your cache.
For the absence of the toggle option my llm of choice states the following, of which the last paragraph is most interesting:
The most likely reason the toggle isn't visible: enabling the new transition experience globally for all users requires engaging Atlassian Support — it cannot be done by a site admin. If an admin has already had Atlassian Support flip the switch site-wide, the new experience is active for everyone and the per-user toggle in Jira Labs simply won't appear (there's nothing left to opt into).
Beyond that, the Atlassian Community post confirms the phased rollout approach: the new experience is being rolled out to all sites, but initially not enabled by default for any user — admins who want to exclude their site from the rollout must contact Atlassian Support. So if your site was included in a later rollout wave where it was enabled by default, the individual Labs toggle would again be redundant and potentially removed from the UI.
In short: the toggle is absent either because the feature was already enabled site-wide (via Atlassian Support or an automatic rollout), making the per-user opt-in meaningless, or because the gradual phase-out of the old experience has progressed far enough on that site that the toggle was simply removed.
I hope it helps,
Cheerio,
Sascha
