User Cannot Tag Another Specific User

Jack Lincoln July 12, 2023

One of my users is unable to tag/@mention one other specific user within Jira issues.

No one else (that I am aware of) is experiencing this issue when trying to tag the same user.

Even when I logged in as this person, I was unable to tag the other user. Both people are in the same Jira group under the global permissions which should allow them to see/tag all other Jira users & groups.

Hi @Jack Lincoln

Welcome to the Community!  This is usually happening because might be user don't have the global permission browse users and groups.

You can check that setting (if you have admin permissions) at <your site>.atlassian.net/secure/admin/GlobalPermissions!default.jspa

Hope this will help you!

@Jack Lincoln You can also follow  : https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/cannot-find-users-in-assignee-or-reporter-fields-779158856.html

If it didn't wor, please take a look at this previous post and try out the suggestions, especially the permission helper one.

Or Try to change the role of the user and then switch it back.

@Sushant Verma Thanks for your welcome and response!

Part of the issue I am having, is the user is in a group that has global permissions within browse users and groups. I have also tried removing/restoring their role and still they are unable to tag this other specific person.

Thanks!
