We need some assistance when it comes to an expired license of one of our instances in the company. The entire company is using Atlassian products.
We have started a year ago a process to merge JIRA from several instances into one instance (“group instance”) to have all the company data in the same instance. As the migration has taken some time, one of the licenses of an instance has expired. We need to transfer some JIRA and JIRA ServiceDesk projects from that instance into the "group" instance. To complete this we need to upgrade that instance of JIRA to the same version as the “group” instance.
Can we upgrade the JIRA Instance from 7.2.7 to 7.10.1 using an evaluation license? How many time can we do this? Can we use the same licence as another instance during the upgrade and migration?
If this is not possible, how can we solve this issue? As we need the instances to be in the same version before we migrate the data.
When your license officially expired?
Jira 7.10.1 was released on 13 Jun 2018 so if the license expired later than this date you can still upgrade to that version (overall to all versions that were under active maintenance)
Hi @[deleted]
if you have a full licence you are allowed to create development licences for your work instances. I would say this comes under the heading of development. You can ping Atlassian support for confirmation using your current licensed server key.
