If I build an structure board with just epics and set target start and end dates, the gantt chart will be displayed correctly using those dates, but if I add the stories under the epics to the structure, the gantt chart ignores the epic dates and uses the stories dates instead.  Our teams don't set target dates at the story level, is it possible to make the structure board use the Epic dates but still show the stories under it.

Hello @Amanda Anderson

Sounds like you have the 'Treat parent issues as groups' option enabled in the chart's configuration. In this case, all parent issues' individual data - their estimates, dates etc - is being ignored since a group is a mere reflection of the work represented by the group's tasks.

If you want the Epics to be treated as individual tasks and scheduled according to their own data, you can change this behavior by opening the chart's settings and unselecting the 'Treat parent issues as groups' option at the bottom of the "Scheduling' tab.

I hope this helps. If you need further assistance or need help with anything else, please reach out to us directly at our support portal and we'll get back to you shortly.

Best regards,
