Upgrading from 4.4 to 5.2 - Project Key Issues?

I am planning on upgrading from JIRA 4.4 to 5.2. I've been reading about the new 10 character limit in 5.x, but I'm unclear how this will impact my existing projects that have >10 characters. Will they be crippled in some way or at worst unusable?

They will work fine. I'm told that the worst case is that you might find a little bit of cosmetic key truncation in some displays, but I've not run into any yet.
