Upgrade download options to the latest versions of JIRA Software & Service Desk are not appearing under the Applications; Versions & licenses page.
Currently we are on 7.8.0 and 3.11.0 respectively and wish to upgrade to 7.10.00 and 3.13.00 but the download for these versions are not appearing. We do see a version upgrade download option under JIRA Core to 7.10.0. and have seen other version releases appear here in the past. Maintenance doesn't expire until 2019.
Does anyone know a reason why we would not be seeing the latest version downloads on the Applications; Versions & licenses page?
Hi Sandra,
In order to update in these versions, you first have to update Jira Core. However you can not update Jira Core in the web browser session of Jira. As such you are going to have to stop Jira and then following one of the upgrade methods explained in Upgrading Jira applications. Personally, I prefer the Upgrading Jira with a fallback method because upgrading Jira historically a complex process that is prone to failure, and this method offers a quick way to revert should the upgrade fail for some reason.
I would recommend that you download either the Jira Software installer or the Jira Service Desk installer for that version you want to upgrade to. These installation packages will be able to update Core and the respective Jira Application during that install. After that is complete you can then update the other Jira application while in the browser session.
