Upgrade Jira Software (Datacenter Licence) v5.2.4.1 to Latest stable version

Hi Team,

We are using old version of Jira Software (Datacenter Licence),
now we want to migrate this to latest stable version. so we need your suggestion.
is there any cost involve to upgrade to latest stable version, is there any challenges
to upgrade this from v5.2.4.1 to latest stable version.

No direct cost - your licence entitles you to any version of the software.

Upgrading has some challenges - you'll need to bring all nodes up to the same level at the same time - the versions you need to jump through are not changes you can make via the "zero downtime upgrades".

You will need to take the main node you want to upgrade through version 6.4, 7.0 and then to 7.12 (there's no concept of "latest stable" in Atlassian releases - if it's released in the main download site, it's stable)
