Update issue customfield based on customfield value of other issue

Is it possible to update the custom field (some number filed) value of issue A, based on the customfiled value of Issue B

Yes is it possible through post function - even groovy is ok for me.

Do it in a listener. Post functions will handle only changes to the custom field in workflows. A listener will pick it in the occurance of any supported event.

Yes that's possible and depends on how do you want to do it. Are you doing it through post function ?
