Update License details while upgradation of Jira Software

Hi Team,

Can you please let us know the procedure to update the license if we are upgrading the Jira software to a newer version (say 7.11 to 8.5).

and we are trying to upgrade using the Jira Server (Installer ) method.

Will it automatically update and keep the existing details and we need to do some other procedures.

Yes the existing license remains.

Thanks for the quick response. so for the Backup purpose we can just copy the license key and proceed with upgradation right ?.

Yes. Just follow the upgrade guide. I found this one from 7.13 to 8.5
