Hello,

Welcome to community :)

Permission Issues:

Your user account lacks the "Transition Issues" permission for that project/issue type.

Ask your Jira Administrator to grant you the necessary permission or add you to a role that has it.

Workflow condition Validators:

The workflow has specific rules (conditions, validators) on the "Cancelled -> TODO" transition that aren't met (e.g., a custom field is empty, user isn't in a specific group).

Have an admin check the workflow: Project Settings > Workflows > Edit the transition > Check Conditions/Validators/Post Functions.

Unpublished Workflow Draft:

The workflow was edited but the changes (like adding the Cancelled->TODO path) weren't published.

An admin must publish the workflow draft.

Thank YOu,

Prachi

Hello @Megha.R ,

Welcome to the community...!

If you're unable to transition an issue from "Cancelled" to "TODO" in a project management tool like Jira or another issue tracking system, there could be a few reasons for this.

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

  1. Ensure that you have the necessary permissions to transition issues. You may need "Transition Issues" permission for the project.

  2. The workflow associated with your project may not allow transitions from "Cancelled" to "TODO."

    • Check the workflow configuration to see if there is a transition path between these two statuses. If not, you may need to modify the workflow to add this transition.

  3. There might be conditions or validators set on the transition that are preventing it. Check the workflow transition settings to see if any conditions or validators need to be met or adjusted.

  4. If you recently made changes to the workflow, ensure that you have published the draft. Unpublished drafts won't apply to the project.

If you have administrative access, you can modify the workflow yourself; otherwise, you'll need to contact your project administrator to make these changes.

Hope this helps.

Hi @Megha.R ,

Do you have any transition from Cancelled status to TO DO status? If yes, Please check the conditions of this transition.

If you are seeing the transition but not able to move to To DO , please check the validations of this transition.
