Unable to setup outgoing email server

Hi There,

I have installed JIRA 7.2 trial instance on my local PC and now I want to setup outgoing mail server but not able to do it. Please advise how to  do the same. Note I have seen steps in the JIRA Admin installation guide but not able to get any success

Not a lot of information to help you with this. What mailserver are you using? Sendmail? Exchange?

What protocol does it connect to? POP, IMAP, IMAPS?

In case of secure protocol. Are the certificates installed? Try downloading SSLPoke from the Atlassian pages: https://confluence.atlassian.com/kb/unable-to-connect-to-ssl-services-due-to-pkix-path-building-failed-779355358.html

and make sure you can ping it.

Did you get any errors in the logs?

Add more info and ill do my utmost to help out.
