Unable to see required/custom fields after issue is created

Phil S.

Hello all,

I've gone ahead and created a custom issue type with several required fields and have no issues with creating the ticket. However, once the issue is created and I view the ticket, none of the required fields from the ticket creation screen are visible.

Is there a way to allow those fields to be visible in view-mode? This will allow us to share/view info within the ticket across multiple departments.

Thanks for your help!

Hi Phil,

There are a couple of reason why you may not see the field(s).

1. The field(s) are not on the "view" screen in the screen scheme. Check to see what is the Default screen and if the View screen has your field(s) included.

2. Jira, by default, will not display empty fields. If you need to see the field, even if empty, you must pre-populate it with something. (setting a default value will over-ride the required aspect however)

I see you are able to create the issue and see the fields during creation, so this is most likely an issue with the View screen associated with the issuetype.
