Unable to Update Email Address

When I go into my JIRA profile and clikc on the edit button to update my email address it allows me to update the address. Then I enter my password and press OK but it says the password is incorrect. I have logged out of JIRA and back in using the same password so i'm not sure why it doesn't recognise my password in this edit dialog box.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as i'm not getting JIRA updates as my email address is outdatted.

Do you have JIRA admin rights? I bet this option is available to the jira-administators group, I have tried updating mine and it was changed just fine. If you are not a JIRA admin, just ask them to update your email address, they can easily do that in the "User Management" admin screen.
