Unable to Create Free Jira Site – Persistent "Something Went Wrong" Error

f s
April 3, 2025

Dear Atlassian Support Team,

I am experiencing an issue while attempting to create a free Jira site. The steps I followed and the problem encountered are as follows:

  1. Entered a valid site name and clicked on the "Continue" button.

  2. The page displayed a loading spinner for an extended period.

  3. Eventually, an error message appeared:

"Something went wrong on our end. Please try again. If this keeps happening, contact support. (Issue ID for Atlassian use: 3865beb3270949eca1a429a5efd066dd)"

To resolve this, I have undertaken the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Browsers Tested: Attempted the process using both Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome.

  • Incognito/Private Mode: Tried creating the site in incognito/private browsing modes to rule out issues related to cached data.

  • Cache and Cookies: Cleared browser cache and cookies thoroughly.

  • Extensions/Add-ons: Disabled all browser extensions and add-ons to prevent interference.

  • Re-authentication: Logged out and then logged back into my Atlassian account to ensure session integrity.

Despite these efforts, the issue persists, and I am unable to complete the creation of a free Jira site.

I have attached a screenshot of the error message for your reference.

Could you please assist me in resolving this issue or provide guidance on alternative steps to successfully create a free Jira site?

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Hi @f s , welcome to the community.

As a matter of information, this Community is not the official Atlassian support channel. But rather a user forum to assist with Q&A, articles, events, etc. Based on your issue I recommend contacting Atlassian Support and use the issue ID reference provided in your post. You should choose the Billing option for your request.
