Ugly UI just dropped on us

Does the new UI really doesn't support a main text editor toolbar when creating a new task any more? Do I really need to store and edit afterwards?

I noticed the same change, and the new Create screen definitely takes some getting used to. The smaller form seems to hide a number of fields that were immediately visible before, which makes creating bugs much less convenient when you need to enter several details.

From what I understand, the fields haven’t actually been removed; they’re just no longer displayed upfront in the new streamlined Create experience.

I haven’t seen a reliable option to permanently switch back to the previous Create UI. If Atlassian doesn’t provide an opt-out, hopefully they’ll at least add a way to configure which fields are displayed by default. That would make the compact layout much more usable for teams that regularly create detailed bug reports.

We had it pushed and enabled as well, without further notification or consent,
Would be nice if Atlassian changed a few things about it.

Still, nice to be able to disable it.
Should be an opt-in rather than opt-out though.

Hi Lalithesh, thanks for the clarification. We’re seeing the same issue, but the Beta features section is empty for us as well. Is there another setting or admin-level option to disable the Modern work item when that option isn’t available?

If you're referring to the new Modern work item, you can disable it under Settings > System > Beta features > Modern work item

Note: You must have Site/ Org admin access to make these changes.
