I am trying to use Data Transfer from one cloud site to another and every time I run the Data Transfer it says Success and that 12251 tickets were migrated. However when I go to my site, I see the project but when I click on it I only get project settings. How do I activate the project and see the tickets.
I have done this several times and have never had this many problems using the Data Transfer tool.
I am trying to migrate the single project to a free version of Jira cloud.
Seeing the project but only project settings after a successful Data Transfer is usually because the project isn’t fully activated or the migrated issues aren’t visible due to permission or indexing delays. On Jira Cloud free, ensure the project is properly shared with your user role and that no project key conflicts exist. Sometimes, refreshing permissions or reindexing helps. Also, verify if the Data Transfer tool completed all issue migrations without silent errors. If the issues are still invisible, try accessing the project with a user account having full browse project permissions. This should activate the project view and show your tickets after migration. @Mark H_ Williams If it works kindly plz let me know.
Hello @Mark H_ Williams
Do you use the same user account on the source site to see the issues as you are using on the destination site to try to see the issues?
Look at the Permission scheme on the project in the destination site. Does the identity you are using on that site have the Browse Projects permission for that project?

Good evening Trudy, Yes, I am using the same account and the permission scheme is opened to any logged in user.
The really funny thing is I used the Data Transfer to copy a Space over to their Confluence as well. I received a successfully completed message from that as well and still I cannot see the space. I am hoping that it is just an indexing issue. The space was 26gig.

Have you used the Permission Helper on the destination site to confirm you have the Browse Projects permission?
Are you able to manually add data to the Jira space or to the Confluence space in the destination site? And then view what you created?
In the destination site do you have the Jira user and Confluence user licenses allocated to you? If not allocate those licenses to your identity to see if that makes a difference.
Was a security scheme applied to the Jira space in the source system? If so, is it applied to the space in the destination site?

Thanks again Trudy, I have already gone through all of those steps. The funny thing is I can get to Space Settings of the project, but when I try to go to the board of the project, it says the project does not exist. I have gone through everything you have suggested. I am waiting to hear back from Atlassian.
In the past when using their Data Transfer tool, we have received multiple False positives only to find out there was an error on their backend. I will wait until I have a chance to talk to them and they can look further into the logs on their side.
Thank you again for all of the suggestions,
Mark

Hi Mark,
You probably should open a support ticket with Atlassian for that.

I would also encourage you to check out the Revyz Command Center for Jira app that can perform the same function. You can sign up for a free trial and run the copy.

Thanks John,
I did open a support ticket. Thanks for the suggestion of Revyz Command Center
