Are you a Jira Administrator for the instance or a Project Administrator for the project you are trying to delete? You must be one of those to delete a project.

Being the Lead for the project does not automatically make you a Project Administrator for the project.
If you are viewing the project, are you able to click on the Project Settings option? If so, what options do you then see?

Can you select the People option on the left, find yourself in the list of people, and see what Roles have been assigned to you?

If you click on Permissions on the left, do you see the Administrator role assigned to the Administer Projects permission?
Are you an administrator for the entire Jira instance? If you click on the gear icon near your avatar do you see the "System" option?
You must either have the global permission for Administer Jira or have the Administer Projects permission within the project itself to be able to move a project to the Trash.

If you have those one or both of those permissions and are unable to move the project to the Trash, I advise you to open a support case directly with Atlassian. Support cases can be opened only by Jira Administrators (or Organization Administrators).

Sorry, I thought I was replying to another thread.
I am trying to delete projects by moving them to the trash. When I do, it doesn't allow me. I saw a post that said to use a different browser and tried that. It gave me the same message. Are there any other ways to delete them?
