I need to identify the trigger that initiates a jira automation.

Could you clarify what you mean by a user “signing off” in your Jira process?

Does the user click an Approve/Decline button, transition the work item to a specific status, update a field, or perform some other action?

I would think the status need to be updated to reflect the sign off.
