Trigger Issue Missing from Epic Link Dropdown

Greetings!

I'm attempting to automate children story creation on the creation of an Epic in JIRA. From the guides I've read, I should be able to do this by mapping the Epic Link field to Trigger Issue; however, I'm not seeing Trigger Issue as an option in the Epic Link dropdown.

Copy from Trigger Issue does appear as an option, but I'm assuming this would attempt to copy from the Epic's Epic Link field and not map to the epic itself. I have also confirmed that Trigger Issue shows up for other fields.

Any help would be much appreciated!

EDIT: Update on some of my own troubleshooting. I've tried manually editing the JSON with the {{triggerIssue}} smart word to no effect. I've also tried mapping to {{triggerIssue.key}}. I've also confirmed that mapping directly to an epic key (i.e. XXX-####) in the JSON results in the automation working as it should.

Hi Martin,

Thank you for trying what I should have tried from the start. Using this option does indeed create the issue inside the epic instead of trying to copy the epic link from the trigger issue.
