Timesheeting based on activity type

Has anyone had experience with a time sheeting app or similar that allows users to specify the type of activity they were performing for any given issue?

More specifically, we have users who perform a number of different activities for each issue, and rather than creating a different issue for each activity, I wanted to know if having different activity types would be a possibility such as: Analysis, Development, Test, Release...

Thanks to anyone who has had a similar experience and has found a solution.

Well I would say take a look at Tempo. It has plenty of features. You can evaluate the app to see if it meets your needs.
