Time Logged doesn't show on higher level issues?

I am seeing that time logged against a sub-task of a task, or a task of a story, does not show up at all on the higher-level issue. Is this on purpose for some reason? Otherwise, it would be helpful when looking at a Story, to see immediately if there is any time logged against that story, whether that be on a task or sub-task of a task. Thanks. - Gary J.

After thought, I submitted this additional Suggestion for JIRA Cloud, to have an icon or visual indicator on Tasks and Sub-task children of a Story to show if any time has been logged or not on those children of the parent:
