Ticket Email Creation: What happens if the end user attempts to send a new request to the reply From

As if my questions verbiage could be any more confusing.

 

When a ticket is replied to, the From: email address is a default jira@....atlassian.net.

What happens if an end-user uses this email address to create a new request? While testing, the email does not assign itself to any of our projects, nor does it return via mail demon.

I think such emails are basically lost. You'll need to create an email handler to convert such emails into new issues or comments:
